The 3rd Corner Wine Shop & Bistro restaurant has three locations – San Diego, Encinitas and the newest in Palm Desert. We visited The 3rd Corner Wine Shop & Bistro in Encinitas on S. Coast Highway and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. It’s a great place to shop or just relax and enjoy delectable food with a glass of wine or your favorite beverage.
The 3rd Corner Wine Shop & Bistro provides fine food at an affordable price which makes for the perfect dining and wine shopping experience. They had wines from all over the world with a selection to fit any – over 800 wines to choose from. The 3rd Corner Wine Shop & Bistro had a fun and casual yet pleasantly romantic atmosphere. There was a bar area with a couple pub tables inside along with tables and booth seating throughout. There was also a patio area for outdoor dining. And the dim lighting inside added to the ambiance.
Like the wine select, the menu was also expansive offering a wide variety of delicious options. There are lunch specials for the perfect light meal and happy hour specials which are light on the wallet. Happy Hour is all night Mondays (3pm-close), Tuesday-Saturday (3-6pm and 11pm-close). The 3rd Corner Wine Shop & Bistro’s full menu is available from 11:30 am 1am.
We visited The 3rd Corner Wine Shop & Bistro during Happy Hour. We ordered a Meyer Angus Beef Burger ($10 – normally $12), Spicy Sausage Penne ($16), Crispy Duck Wings ($7 – normally $9) and a glass of red wine ($4 during Happy Hour).
The Meyer Angus Beef Burger was delicious. It came with aged cheddar cheese, tomato onion jam, applewood smoked bacon, romaine, lemon aioli and a side of 3rd corner fries.
The burger was excellent and cooked to perfection (pink throughout). We ordered the tomato onion jam on the side and would recommend getting the lemon aioli on the side as well. The lemon aioli was strong but very good. Ordering the tomato onion jam and lemon aioli on the side you can really taste the delectableness of the burger and add just the right amount of sauce to please your palate.
The 3rd Corner fries were very good. The fries came with seasoned garlic oil, parmesan and parsley. The fries were thin, flavorful, crispy on the outside and scrumptious. We loved the flavor enhanced by the garlic oil and parmesan.
The Crispy Duck Wings were amazing. The duck wings came with orange honey mustard sauce, jicama, apples and blue cheese. The sauce gave the perfect amount of sweetness enriching the tender and flavorsome meat.
The Spicy Sausage Penne had a nice hot kick to it and was super tasty. It came with tomato ragu, roasted red peppers and chili flakes. This was one of our favorite pasta dishes we’ve had in San Diego!
