Bite into a mouthwatering treat while supporting the AJ’s Kids Crane charity event thanks to Food Smackdown’s delectable organization skills. Every year Star 94.1 FM’s radio show host AJ Machado is lifted 60-feet above the ground by a crane, and stays airborne until more than 100,000 new and unwrapped toys are collected for kids at a children’s hospital in San Diego. Not only does the stunt bring out crowds of faithful listeners and media outlets, but it also brings out the hungry.

FoodSmackdown.com is excited to sponsor the 10th annual event on November 7, 2011 from 5pm-8pm at IKEA in San Diego (2149 Fenton Pkwy), by rallying the tastiest food trucks in the area to the cause. There are eight gourmet food trucks participating in the event, with each happily donating 25% of each item sold! The food trucks, arranged by Food Smackdown, will be out from 5pm to 8pm with some finger-lickin’ good eats for charity.

BITCHIN’ BURGERS. The retro-esque truck of Bitchin’ Burgers offers a touch of old school with a trendy flair. The gourmet food truck wrapped in bright yellow tours throughout San Diego daily delivering 100% grass-fed beef and veggie burgers to hungry consumers. Their burger philosophy revolves around bringing the backyard burger to the streets through premium ingredients and local produce. MAD MAUI BBQ. The Mad Maui BBQ food truck is a taste of Hawaii here on the mainland. The truck’s bright red color and giant open barbecue draw hungry folks in and keep them happy in North County San Diego. DEVILICIOUS. Devilicious, from Season 2 of Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race, will be serving up food so good it’s bad! Their innovative flavor combinations are new spins on classics like the Poboy, BLT, and corned beef sandwiches. For a decadent and unforgettable grilled cheese, take a bite out of their Butter Poached Lobster Grilled Cheese. This sandwich is packed full of lobster, melted cheeses, and caramelized onions, that leave all imitators in the dust. CHOP SOO-EY. Chef Deborah Scott and the Cohn Restaurant Group’s touring restaurant and a catering favorite in San Diego, Chop Soo-ey, will be serving up a number of their mouthwatering pork-centric dishes. Their signature El Pignini Sandwich served on a grilled pretzel roll is loaded with country ham and pork belly, which is accented perfectly with apple mustard and smoked gouda. FOOD JUNKIES. Like the Food Junkies‘ motto says, “Anyone can cook food and deliver it to you, we decide not to.” This food truck is a San Diego catering staple where customers get to completely customize the menu to meet the every need of their taste buds, and reap the benefits at their desired location. MANGIA MANGIA. Take a taste of San Diego’s first and only gourmet Italian Food Truck featured on Cooking Channel’s Eat Street: Mangia Mangia. Marko Pavlinovic has brought his love for fine cuisine and recipes of traditionally inspired Italian dishes to the streets of San Diego. THE LIME TRUCK. Orange County’s Lime Truck will be snaring eyes and bringing taste buds over to their unique flavor combinations. CORNER CUPCAKES. Finish the evening off with one of Corner Cupcakes‘ delicious delicacies.
