Dog Haus (pronounced dog house) opened in Los Angeles County in October 2010 in the city of Pasadena California. It’s a 1400 square foot 42 seat restaurant offering fast-food with comfy sit-down seating so you can hang out and listen to 80s music while enjoying delicious food at the same time. Dog Haus is very popular among locals with long lines forming during peak hours. But the service was fast and friendly and the food is so delicious it’s worth the wait!
Dog Haus in Pasadena is owned and operated by the guys behind Neomeze and Red, White & Bluezz. The restaurant is in a newer building on North Hill Avenue (about a block away from Pasadena City College) and sports a sleek industrial design where everything has been designed from scratch from the powder-coated metal, stained wood floors, to the black and white walls with red accents.
Dog Haus menu had a variety of options including burgers, hot dogs, fries, tater tots, hot dogs topped with tater tots and about a half-dozen different kinds of sausage. One of the most popular attractions (if not the most popular) at Dog Haus is the Freiburger.
We ordered The Freiburger ($6.25) and a Holy Aioli ($5.95). We were told these were the two most popular burgers on the menu by the worker who took our order. And the recommendation was spot on!
The Freiburger was amazing and one of the most unique and tasty hamburgers we’ve had in Los Angeles.
The Freiburger came with cheese, coleslaw, a fried egg and stuffed with French fries and was served on a delicious set of four Hawaiian Rolls. It was named after one of the owner’s hometown in Freiburg, Germany.
The Holy Aioli was also delicious.
It came with white American cheese, caramelized onions, smoked bacon and Haus garlic aioli and served on a delicious set of four fresh Hawaiian Rolls.
The fries were excellent. They were served hot, lightly seasoned and had a nice crisp on the outside.
Dog Haus, which is said to be the “best of the wurst,” is fun, family-friendly and an awesome place to grub down on any occasion. If you have not visited Dog Haus in Pasadena you’ll definitely want to drop by – You won’t leave hungry or disappointed. The food is amazing!
